Default 640 to 637 switch driver question - Kvant

    Hey Guys.

    Need some quick advice.

    Can I use a 637 kvant red/blue module in a projector that used to have 640 red/blue?
By just replacing the module itself only?
the projectors are both 2.1 watt kvant spectrums.

I'm mostly wondering this because of the drivers if the one for the 640 can work with the 637 red blue module?

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Doubt it will be as simple as a straight swap.
Your going to need a lot of info first , spec sheets for the 637 and 640 diodes.
Does each unit use the same amount of diodes, ect ect
And then adjust the old driver to suit the new diodes as there is going differences between the two units
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

Pj asks this because his 640 is misalligned on 2 diodes.
It seems that 2 diodes are not fully hitting the knife edge mirror, which causes a square arround the red beams.
Because he has to do a show soon he doesn't have the time to send it to Kvant right away, so what we would do is switch the modules with one of my Kvants.

@white-light, he asked here because we would have an answer yesterday evening.
He was at my place and the projector was alreay open, it has been easy if we could switch it at the same time.
But it maybe isn't that simple as we thought it would be, we will ask Peter.

    Thank you all!

    Hi,

Astatic, why don't you rent your complete laser for this evening? that could be easier than unmount your own laser

    @ MIIKKKLLLL
He may use it for free, but because the 2W is a CT HP which is in a 3W projector box it will bet to large to ship like he want to ship it.

Laser heads and drivers are usually matched sets, which is why they usually carry matching serial numbers. Even with identical heads and drivers you would probably be in trouble mixing them up. This is particularly important with DPSS lasers

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
