Default SELEM so who wants to play a show?

The other thread of show q a, seems to have died off, who all has content they want to play at SELEM. Just trying to see how much time is scheduled out for the weekend. Flecom I see you can fill some time but what all is out there? For this or what type holes need to be filled.

Also I know it was requested to see continuous shows in the auditorium, but curious if there might be any play time as well, trying to decide on to bring my 5w would like to see how it does beams in a larger venue, with the higher diverge red right now. Don't want to subject it to the LIVE environment , and tryin to decide to bring it or not. Just tore down my 2w box to replace the 660 in it with 640.

Just picked up from Mike Dunn, rockin 80s, Dave Matthews, laser rock 2000, and britany n Christina.

I also have some good stuff from several planetarium / science center buyouts that will be available for play back.

I like Brad can fill a bit of time, but would really like to see some stuff I can't just see at home, though the venue idea will make it so much better.

I'm not certain we can go for "constant" shows as most of us are going to want to sit in on other things but, I think we can break it down into time chunks and give an idea of what is going to be played.

We can't get into the cafeteria until Friday from what I understand so, we need to worry about Thursday night after the pre-SELEM dinner. I would think perhaps Friday maybe try to fill up from 11-3. Then allow for some time to check out the cafeteria since it's new for all of us. The cafeteria will probably allow some flexibility for a food break as well. The maybe start up again from 7 until 11 and run about four or five longer shows.

Saturday presents a bit more of a challenge because I would expect Saturday to probably be Sam's talk, maybe Gregs lumia presentation, Frank may be spending some time on DMX, we've got Bill at 3, and we'll have Dan as well. Maybe one of those talks should be Sunday morning. Maybe we break it down into even smaller chunks. Say 10:30- noon, then, run a show in the 12:30-2:30 to allow for lunch. I suspect most everyone will be listening to Bill at 3. That will likely last longer than any of us expect so, I'm guessing it's 5 before we would start anything else. Saturday evening we probably want to run as long as possible but take dinner into consideration. The auditorium will probably also be in "competition" with the cafeteria.

    Then on Sunday...

Actually, as I write this, it's all going to be a bit of a competiton for people's time with having two spaces going. It's going to be hard trying to sit and enjoy a show while wondering what your missing somewhere else. Or by the same token, be the people setting up the cafeteria on Friday and wondering what you're missing in the auditorium. The only good thing is that for the longer shows, you can hit "play" and then go do something else, as long as you come back in 45 minutes or an hour or however long the show is. Or, maybe we get away from the idea of pushing for "constant" shows and say, the auditorium are "these" hours and the cafeteria are "those" hours.

Of course... when has SELEM ever adhered to "that" tight a schedule?

some people have complained about SELEM and the lack of shows running in the auditorium so as I understand it thats what we are going to try this year, shows running constantly in the auditorium

Appears that there's going to be more content than in past years? Looking forward to what you guys can bring.

I'll have some of Mike Dunn's fine work as well - Echoes, and some Jimi Hendrix and Beatles (as was seen last year). Probably more overlap, but it can be seen elsewhere if needed.

As mentioned, I'm still planning to do something with lumia as a workshop/discussion whatever time this is scheduled.

Humm... you know, as I think about it. There might be a very good solution here. Mike Dunn will be there of course and, as he sells shows, what better way to market than demonstrate your product? Has any one considered asking Mike to run some of HIS stuff? I remember how I felt after seeing Best of Echos and wanting to own a copy. I haven't bought it yet but, Greg, DZ and others certainly have. And, they might not have been compelled to do so had they not seen it. Dunn right, (yeah, a pun) Mike could walk out of there with potentially a number of sales or, a least plant the seed for future sales.

It would be appreciated if a sign up sheet or something could be created that let people know what was being played and when. Or at least a tentative plan. This will let people know when they should be somewhere if they are interested in certain music. It would also be nice if the auditorium door was kept closed while music is being played, too. It's pretty annoying when you are watching a show and some decides to open the door wide open and stand there to look around.

    .

I have an email out to him from last week, asking if he will bring a drive of his content. Will update when I hear back.
