    Default ILDA Splitter

Ok, there was a good bit of interest in an ILDA splitter at SELEM, so I thought I'd get one cracked out this weekend. Unfortunately, Front Panel Express is quite expensive, but I think it might be worth it. Just for the front and back panel, anodized black with white lettering it's about $105 per set. I still need to go over some numbers, but I think I can do this for about $250-300, I should have a better figure when I get the board design done and the final parts list together. I've put my current design on a breadboard and have worked out all the bugs I can find and have made several improvements over the 10 channel demo splitter that I made for Buffo.

This will be a 5 channel splitter. Each channel is fully buffered. This includes X/Y, all 6 color lines and shutter (it takes about 60 op-amps circuits to get this done!). The interlock loops are completely isolated. The interlocks (pin 4 and 17) are shorted when a DAC is connected, if the DAC is disconnected all interlock loops open. This can be bypassed with a switch on the back of the box. Also, a switch on the back can be set to open all shutters. The back of the box will have X/Y invert switches for all 5 ILDA out channels. The front of the box will have Gain and Offset control for 4 of the 5 channels. There are a couple reasons for this, channel 5 is intended to connect to a projector that has its X/Y gain and offset set by the DAC and all others set by the front panel controls so no need for manaul controls. Also, if you need more than 5 channels, channel 5 is what you would connect to ILDA in on another splitter. This way, if you were to adjust X/Y on the front panel you wouldn't affect any projector attached downstream at another splitter. Attached are a couple pics of the box, front and rear panels. Let me know what you think and if you're interested in this. I may do this in groups as it would take a good bit of coin to store these on a shelf. So I would probably take pre-orders for a week, take payment, order parts, assemble, test and ship. Turn-around after payment could be around a month or so.
