    Default Saftey Goggles

As I am now looking for saftey goggles that are rated for 1064 and 532. Does anyone sell from this forum as I am in need of a pair or two?

I can probably get you some Bolle goggles... But be warned they are NOT cheap, in fact the price could easily make your eyes water. However, they are extremely good and are certified, personally it makes me cringe when I see uncertified goggles from the far east. I wouldn't be happy trusting my eyesight to something uncertified. Certification costs money as extensive testing is required

I think mine are OD3, I got Rob (Stanwax) a pair for use with a Laserscope and I recall they were OD6 if my memory serves me correctly. You could perhaps drop Rob a PM and ask what he thinks of them.

    Cheers

    OD7 YAG + OD5 532 + OD4 UV, if I recall correctly, is around $250 at noir lasershields

they are certified and excellent service, very professional, and give every documentation (curves, materials, etc..)

Yep, that price is probably comparable to the Bolle ones. In fact the Bolle may be a little bit cheaper. I was just trying to get the point across not to expect them for the same price as the far eastern ones

    From memory,

    Mine are >950 to 1070 nm, OD = 7+

    Thorlabs - £121.90

No protection in the 532nm length - but then I'm not planning on a direct hit.. :/

Could you get a pair of glasses for the IR, and then wear goggles over the top? (Assuming you already have a set of goggles, that is...)

I have a pair of argon goggles that are OD11 for green (512, but they work very well for 532 too), and I know I've seen OD4 glasses for 1064 on E-bay... They sure look like they'd fit under a set of goggles.

Most of the goggles, (certainly the Thorlabs ones I have) are designed to be worn over prescription specs' so I don't see why not.. although I feel safer knowing my IR protection is on the "outside"
