ugh, thats a really slippery slope you are on there... you really, really don't want lasers to get the attention of the BATFE...

Eek, I don't think I wanna know... just as long as we don't see these showing up on eBay...

..although, I'm not sure I'd squawk much if one of these were, say, to 'show-up at a Kryoman sho' Oops, sorry I set yer arms on-fire Ky..

Printable Defense. This IS a very slippery slope. Anybody, with the help of a 250$ reprap printer, can "print" their own recievers for an amazing amount of weapons. All at the point, unregulated. The BATFE, is the reason I quit making the " Dazzler " and "Vision Collider" for Xtreme Alternative Defense Systems a.k.a; XADS. Those weapons were featured on the Discovery channels " The Science of Starwars " episode. I would worry more about a 2 watt blue pointer being deemed a weapon, then me printing receivers. http://www.printablegun.com . But think out this... Cost of 17 rounds of .45 roughly $10.. the cost of two C cell batteries... 2 bucks..... the rayguns produce 170 bursts at full power. effective range 25 yards. But I do believe that holding the gun, in any aggressive manor, will get you shot at by the ATF or Police!!

Joules on target per burst? Compared to 0.45 round?

..Do have to say, 'Mr Timberlake', there did a good-job of enumerating the rationales behind their whole 'freedom of information'-crux.. Whether or not they've chosen a "good" item to 'prove the point' with, remains to be seen, but... interesting-predications...

Hmmm.. 'printable' Kraft Mac & Cheese?

I am worried greatly about both things, trust me I am sure the ATF is already looking very closely at the whole 3D printing of guns thing

the fact I can print a DIAS and make my AR-15 full auto (albeit with a nice jail sentence attached) I am sure has their panties in a bunch

I'd be very careful with these.

I believe the Geneva convention specifically outlaws the use of blinding weapons.

You could find yourself subject to a war crimes trial if these were ever used.
