Cheap Chinese laser - teardown w/ pics

500mW / 650nm (Red) on yours it says 638 nm 180 mw red that means they lieing

200mW / 532nm (Green)

300mW / 450nm (Blue)

I have one of these and as far as putting some beams around the room its ok but it certainly isn't 1w!!
Friend measured it as
160mw red
140mw green
200mw blue

And those measurements were taken direct at source. Total 'white' after dichros and mirrors is 390mw!

ye i have the standard one and it does look nice and vivid but u get what u pay for mine cost £330 and lasers like kam are about £2-3k 1w i just use mine for house partys etc.

Im going to try and get a refound on mine i opened it up and the green laser was out of line and i cant adjust the been as screw threads are warn away and they have just glued them it, its a right boj job.

Yep that's the way they are the power supply came disconnected when I got my first far east wonder I had to break the little white seal they had on it for warranty to reseat it. Like I was really going to send it back there price of shipping to China check it out man is it pricey you better check what that is going to cost you before you talk about a refund with them they will not ship it back for free.

You can do some modifications and get some beams going or upgrade the scan engine and get graphics but as it stands pretty much basic hot glue under spec projector,

I am not sure how the align those L brackets I tried once gave up real quick. They should try poster putty he he I use it when I am aligning projectors before I actually drill holes and put 1/4 20 screws in to mount stuff never had much luck with hot glue components pop off way too easy.

When I did a short term tour with a company out of New Haven Conn back in the late eighties they purchased some projectors from Switzerland and every component was hot glued in the projector not sure how they got that past Uncle.

The scan set is rated at 20Kpps and super qiqi and I are fighting over this as I type this message. Super qiqi's response to my report is as follows

Perhaps they are confused by the hyperlink ending in 30k but the installed scanset is rated at 20kpps and performing at 12k. Out of the box my super qiqi special cannot perform the ILDA test patten without heavy flicker and circle outside square. Very disapointing but I am holding firm and requiring a full refund or replacment of the scan set with a 30k scanset.

You can find deals on scan sets keep fighting the battle but I would look into just upgrading to a better scan set this will set you back up to $200.00 or more depending on the speed you need. I got a 30K set for $165.00 that I am pretty happy with. You got the standard egg foo young special scan set that goes for about 70 bucks on ebay it will do like 10 or 11k at best thats why they put flashing in there advertisement making it sound like its part of the effect maybe you can squeeze some graphics out but the flashing will give you a headache. I got the same set with mine but I knew it going in so I got the projector cheap.

I put my egg foo young special scan set in a beam projector since I really just do shapes and lines with it so the scanners did not go to waste.

has anyone been able to make the dy-868 work with a pangolin system? With my QM-32 the scanners are running but no laser output? Interlock?? Do you need to rewire? It works with the Ishow adapter but Ishow is crappy software...
