    Default Big dumb noob questions

Ok, so, just purchased my first laser, an RGB Mobilebeat MkIV, and was super happy with it, playing through haze and whatnot. Now I started looking up how to use the ILDA on it and see all sorts of new specs and manufacturers etc etc.

So my questions (the info on mobilebeat is sparse, i used the search, don't flame too hard ), but for the money (1300-1800usd) is there a better alternative? The main use of this is for DJ'ing and such, but my deal is my brother handles the music, I handle the lights, and I may like to, at some point soon, do more than this is capable of but i dont even know what it's really capable of (15,000 pps?) Again not knocking the product at all, i just didn't research beforehand enough i guess, and this is strictly in your guys' opinion.

I'm located in the US, Connecticut to be precise, also noticed there is a manufacturer in my state xD, but they seem to only have 5,000$ish lasers.

Next up, what is acceptable to scan the crowd with? or is it completely unacceptable? Not a big deal either way.

Finally, I run a macbook pro :/, best options for ILDA? USB to ILDA and bootcamp or am i missing something?
    Thanks in advance
    -Kevin

Not yet, haven't used it outside of my house and next gig is Halloween, was going to pick up xlasers form today, but got caught up in finding out that i may be missing out (mobile beat is ttl, 15kps, etc) so was going to hold off in case i decide to return it

TTL will only give you 7 colors. 15k scanners will not do good graphics, but they will do beams ok. If you want an analog RGB projector with good scanners and the projector is varianced (legal to use in the USA), be prepared to spend at least $5,000.

Also, your personal variance takes time to get, and you can't legally use your projector in public without it. And you need to be safety trained.

Rowr, seems there's not much in terms of Mac comparability either, recommend an interface? Something a bit more than what i need in case i want to upgrade at some point? Also, whats the purpose of a laser being under 499mw, indoor safety and certain class designation? I don't want to bother you too much, is there a noob faq around this forum somewhere? xD

I'm an XP person myself, and it works great for me. Just my opinion...

Under a 1/2 watt vrs more (3B vrs 4)? The best correlation I can think of is: I have a truck. What do I need to drive it? Is it a pickup truck or is it a Kenworth?

Certainly with more laser power the more chance of danger. Blinding someone, fire...etc.
