Erhm...
Anyone know how he makes this look so easy?

My guess:
< 1% doping
Insane amounts of 808nm
Proper Mirrors

I am pretty certain the pump/rod assy is from one of the lightwave laser like I have. The setup is identical to the screws. 120watts of diodes and I believe a YLF rod.
As far as I can tell he isn't actually generating any green, it looks like the crystal is out of the beam path for the video. Getting IR is not that hard, with the brewster rod the initial setup takes a while, although you can still use a red diode/hene to get things close. Other than that its just a matter taking your best bet at the thermal lensing and picking an OC based on your expected output power... Nice video in any case though! He is only the second person I have seen generate anything out of one of those lightwave modules
I've seen one guy get the Lightwave to work, so make that Three.

The lightwave has crystals that have the ends cut at an angle so the whole thing sits kind of sideways.
I got another m210-v06 running the other day. It has a wiped EEPROM so no normal power supply will drive it. I managed to get ahold of a protoype power supply that ignores the model informations and was ably to set it ip manually. I managed to get 7.3 watts average at 9khz. If I hadn't gotten it working inward just going to turn it into a generic 1064 head.
The diodes on the v06 head (which I am pretty sure the above pump assy came out of) runs at about 25-30 amps per diode so the diodes are pretty well under driven.
The 4 lenses for the focus telescopes arrived today.
Two per diode, may go down to one depending on adsorption profile.

Just found this thread. The work you guys are doing looks awesome.
@planters; I would definitely be interested in picking up components to build off the final design, but I am still very much a novice in the world of lasers and electronics and would probably need a lot of help (i.e. a workshop at a LEM along the same lines as Buffo's PL projector). Learn by doing right?!![]()
Any chance you're going to be in Boston in late Jan? LEM @ MIT? Nothing to build yet, but some brainstorming.
Big Green Airlines proudly announces the arrival of the long awaited 10 mm long KTP crystals. And while my Vandate has a tad too much doping for its length, we are cleared for takeoff. Prototype manufacturing starts this weekend.
Steve
Goes without saying but, we are gonna need lots of pictures!!!!!![]()
