You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Nothing like fine language to oil the wheels.

Also, if you mount the optics on the bevel edge, does that complicate the adjustment geometry at all?
    Hey Tribble!

For future reference, I believe both of your suggestions would work. For the shorter screw to work, you'd have to get one that was just long enough to thread enough to keep it from popping back out under decent tension. Personally, my collection of metric fasteners in this size (1mm?) is very limited.

As far as mounting on the 45 is concerned, it is a straight 45 degree cut, so not any more trouble than mounting on the front surface. The added bonus of the angle mounting approach is not only aesthetic, but also allows you to use a straight edge to lay out your dichro arrangement on the optic plate.

    Cheers!

Like the ‘topping-off’ ceremony performed when one completes the roof on a new house, i've reached a seminal point in my build.
Last night, i bit the bullet and drilled the holes for the scanners, something i’ve been putting off for weeks, only becuase i've been a lazy assehole.
It was not the easiest task as the 3 holes in the plate obviously needed to match up exactly with the holes underneath the mounting block. Screwing this up would have meant i would have had to buy 2 new plates and redo everything (i'm a bit anal like that). Before anyone says, yes I know it's easier to pre-mount the scanblock to a small ally plate, but i thought i'd challenge myself by doing it this way. (It also means i don't have to lift everything else to match the mirrors). It's a perfect fit

Dichros have been (correctly) fixed to the flexmounts, so i can tap the holes for the red, blue, green and 3 mirror mounts. Then it's onto the case fabrication.

As with my first projector, ONCE i started, things then moving pretty quickly. Unfortunately, i can't complete at the weekend, as i'm in London, but i should have everything bolted down by next week

Ps, Use HSS instead carbon steel taps, they're only meant for re-threading. I know this as i managed to snap an M3 half way through .
Also, i found out that M3 and M4 taps have a different pitch. M3 has a course 0.5 and M4 is fine 0.7
