    Default Another Laser Harp/midicontroller project

Me and my friend just started a project to make a laser harp / Midi controller as we are both interested in music and im sold on lasers
We figured we should go the arduino way and are also add a sensor to measure the distance with the hand and change cc values that way while playing notes using laser and light sensors. I have some spare parts like a 473nm laser head and also a set of china 15k galvos that i thought might come handy in this project.

Im curious if there is a way to program the arduino to run the galvos and make the harp beams? i think we are going with 7-10 beams.
Would be nice to run this thing without a dac.
    2x 1W RGB(DT40 PRO)
    1x 4W RGB, Full diode (DT40 WIDE)
    2x 1W, 532nm(DT40 WIDE)
    1x ALC68 ArgonGasser with 8ch, PCAOM
    5xFB3SE, BEYOND

    In progress, 2x 2,5w RGB

I have read that you will only use one salvo and if you can get the laser blanking right it should work great.
    Good Luck!!!

I re-wrote the Laser Harp firmware for a kit sold here recently.

My re-write provided polyphonic operation and improved beam brightness quite measurably. I also added programmable beam counts for each user selectable bank, colour beam control etc. and improved the MIDI messaging. The results can be seen in this thread http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...967#post231967

This design used an Arduino core, DAC and single Galvo. Stepper motors really are not fast enough and I don't see how you can do this without a DAC.

it's free (only the components to buy) and the boards are under quote if you want the "bare PCB"
    control a color ILDA laser
    open or closed frame use
easy programming (midi in so you play the beam you play the note and it's done!)

Hey Dnar, I have one of them harp kits that is still running the last version of firmware that Things issued.
Any chance you could let me know what I need to change in the harp and send me the latest firmware and data values for a single colour harp?
