    Default What were they trying to do? Crystals on a heatsink.

    Got these things too. Not sure what they were trying to do. It appears they put YAG or Vandanate crystals on a big water cooled heatsink. Maybe side pumping with a diode bar? The crystals are just held in place by spring tension. I popped one off and it appeared the back side might be coated? Maybe for 808HR?

    Might be for a thin disk yag crystal...

    I know the spring would be for keeping good thermal contact and alignment in the case of thermal expansion, kind of difficult for me to deduce a pumping scheme without seeing these in their natural environment. :P

    What will you do with them?

    That is unsymmetrical cooling. They either were side pumped with low power or a not so great, older, design..

    No clue. Just something else that was in a pile of goodies I got.
