Rocketman has retired recently for what I know, and this is the reason he is so active in posting videos
we are challenging him at laserfreak since he got involved in LE N2 and TEA N2 laser experiments from a member there, and he has given examples and clues on how to improve this design since he has achieved unique commercial designs in this range of lasers
he has a great amount of material and components to experiment with, and the wealth to buy ebay material in a regular basis without worrying about customs or so...
but I dont think he has active connections like the ones needed to have information about those lasers..
be honest, I had seen this demo in Frankfurt this year,they show the demo lasers in Pangolin's booth, but they only told me it is very expensive.
Derek is a nice people, but his colleague agree give me prices after exhibitions , till now I still hadn't
I am not expect using those lasers for show, from their words, I thought it maybe expensive than OPSL.

Derek is still very much in the business. Never had the pleasure of meeting him but if anyone with QS or Beyond has looked at the Copyright info that comes up when you load a new workspace - the default QS workspace (as Beyond currently doesn't have its own workspace), then you'll find Derek designed the workspace and cues in it for specifically for Pangolin.
The razor sounds very impressive especially the wavelength choice as green and red are quite interesting areas when it comes to colour selection.
Based on some of your other comments from Derek, I'm thinking fiber-laser.. http://www.mpbc.ca/_en/web/lasers/cw/visible/ ..not *quite* line-by-line availability, but pretty-darn close,
..and, yes, super beam-quality, (..I'm sure that '<5 mRad' listed on their site is *way* overstated or a typo.. the beams in those photos are certainly *way* less-than 5..) and perhaps Derek, et al have found a way to-improve.. dunno, just a guess..
IIRC, about $20K a pop.. I'd imagine some are less, some are more, but.. not exactly 'hobbiest' - or even most 'Pro-Co's - level of 'affordable'... *sigh* ..someday..

Almost certainly OPSL. Especially with the wavelength flexibility and I suspect, we will learn, the very high price. I doubt it's fiber as the power is not there yet while OPSLs exceed this already. I've heard rumers from a well known distributor that these were going to start appearing if any thing a few months ago. Unless they thought the name fibeR laser=Razor was cute.

Hmm.. don't know that OPSLs are commercially-available in 'on-demand, line-for-line', resolution... yes, there's quite a few 'familiar' ion-matched lines (ie: 488, 514, etc..) but I don't believe you can just call up Coherent and order ie, 489, 490, 491, etc, should-you desire.. Also, that particular FL-manufacturer may-not offer too-many lines above 2W, ie: here's thier 'power vs wavelength spread' - http://www.mpbc.ca/_images/lasers/cw.../vfl-graph.png ..but, Perhaps other OEMs have 'up-to 5W' FLs in more lines.. dunno, for sure... in any-case,

Yes, that's what i told to Derek about DPSS... Diode Pumped Solid State.... and an IR diode is a solid state componnent after all... but i still dont understand why he said it's not DPSS.. but it's using an IR diode to pump some material.... it's curious, and i have insisted but he said it's not DPSS...
Some are thinking about an OPSL....?
