Hi guyes, i was on the Lasertech Canada website and i saw they anounce a new laser kind of 2.5mm beam with 0.3mrad???.. wich kind of laser it is?

I did not found any result on google...

Pangoline Quickshow FB3
H-RGB1800 with DT40 and Laserwave OEM pro S modules (r637nm 190mWg532nm 710mWb447nm 850mW)
Old set of G120 scanners and one Cambridge 6850
1.4W 445 blue pointer
Maybe a value given in "half angle" and "half diameter"??
Regardless of the claimed M squared of most Chinese lasers, this is pretty feasible for a diffraction limited laser.

Gilette started producing lasers? (french joke only, regarding the french translation of "raser" which means "to shave")
curious about the technology involved... have OPSL been copied?
It is probably stated at half angle
It would be interesting to see gilette producing knife-edge arrays![]()
"its called character briggs..."
I thought they already did, in terms of filters![]()

OK I just had a call with Derek Garbo from Lasertech Canada to get more informations.
Btw i remember i have meet him at Laser-FX 98' in Burlington, Ontario, 15 years ago, i remember he is the guy that won the laser show contest, he also had a song track that was simply the galvo analog output connected to as audio source!.. that was a great show!
He gladly accepted to share some info with me about that Razor Sharp Laser technology that he accept that i share with you here.
What he said is that they are working in association with other company to build a new generation of laser that they should release soon. Here are the specs:
-0.3mrad FULL beam divergeance ( not half divergeance)
-2.5mm diameter beam ( FULL diameter)
-Single diode laser up to 5Watts, no cascaded diode and no knife edge and no prism BS...
-it's using IR diode that pump something else, but it's not DPSS he said.
-ANY wavelenght between 514 and 670nm should be availlable ( i think he meant at any wavelenght step.. maybe every 1nm or less !!!.. ex: 514, 515, 516...up to 670)
-They did some demo in germany this year. Apparently the beam show are alot more brighter.
Hmm. certainly interesting, is it too good to be true, we'll see..

Derek is a good guy. I miss meeting him. Glad to see he is still in business!
So he's having a science grade laser built. Those are typical numbers for a lab grade DPSS, OPO, OPSL, or External Cavity Diode.
Close to gas laser specs... Many customers will be much happier with the narrow beam.
Mostly likely OPO or custom semiconductor medium in those ranges.
A slight correction:
The Galvo output as a Audio source was the legendary Tim Walsh... Who uses some really Cool LaserGraph DSP hardware to achive that.
Derek was projecting it, though...
