    Default DPSS Diodes

    Hey Everyone,
It has been a while since i have been on the forum. However i have been considering making a switch to a diode laser.
I want to build a 4-5 watt unit with the standard RGB configuration *(unless anyone has any other options).

    My questions are
What are some recommended types of diodes to buy, good bang for buck...in terms of manufacturer?
What wavelength of diodes to use?
And the recommended power of each wavelength of diode for a 4-5 watt unit.

    Thanks

    I'd say
    Quad Mitsubishi ML501P73 for red 638nm (2w-losses)
    Osram PLTB450 for blue 450nm (1.4w-losses)
Green stays DPSS 532nm, since green LDs are far too weak yet for such unit. You need green to be least power of all, so it might be somewhat 1-1.2w.
In total you'd have 4.4 watts of raw power. Might need some tweaking up or down for white balance though as far as I saw (not so much as other guys here), this is quite logic combination, since scotopic vision (at low luminosities or at night) is much more sensitive to 450nm than 638.
