all right...i'll chime in...the sp ps...rip out anything that appears to have any value in its weight of its base material and recycle it.

the hene optics send to bob hess no charge

the tiny hene...now that is small...i thought I had the smallest one (my wife says)...anyway the getter is gone on it and it might light for a little while but more than likely...it is a desk bobble

just wait until you see the junk I start to post...I should just make a short cut right to the trash with the stuff.

The PSU is a colorshot PSU, I think. Hooks to a 164/165 head and has two settings, on, and off. I dont know what the mods were to make a 164 head a colorshot, so I cant endorse just going out and playing...

Its a switched resistor psu. Quite nice when they work. Quite unnice when they don't. I'd love to have it, but I'm broke.

My guess on the optics is a fabry-perot interferometer for looking at laser modes. This is based on the wickedly expensive glasswork. These came with mirror sets that can look like that, but, I have never seen ones exactly like that.. Could be for a early interferometer HENE like a HP/Agilent. Hess or Goldwasser would be my guess as to whom may want them.

ok, so I have a couple items that might be of some interest, here... I say, 'I guess...' cause I am not an expert on them, and hope, perhaps, that some of the Experts and Professors that dwell, here, might be so-kind as-to 'fill in some of the blanks' / correct me where I might be off, so'z that perhaps, someone who actually might want / need these, will get the 'proper 411' on them..

First, we have a loverly Spectra Physics 2700 (?? - I need to re-write the Model number-down tomorrow - will edit this post...) PSU, which, I believe (and this is the 'I need the experts-part'... Steve? Pat?...) might be single-phase / three-phase-capable (?)... it has a sticker on the back, indicating last-service, it was operating properly, but since we have no-more small-frame SP's currently (only 171s) can't test it too-well... Price? Dunno, PM an offer... anyone with a 164 / 168 might be keen on this - and it's got the coolest-little remote - very early-James Bondish...

..Ok, next-up, 4-pairs of what are labeled "HeNe Mirrors" in the optics drawer they came from, but I'd sure love to see the HeNe these would fit ...they're like ~ 9/16" in diameter, and ~1/4" thick! They're HUGE! - seem to be a fascinating combo of glass-machining and glass-assembly, with what I believe the be the HR, having a silver (?) end-cap of some sort.. really interesting mirrors, something I've never seen.. Collectors out there? Robert Hess? Professor? Steve - you have any answers?... again, make an offer, if interested...

    Attachment 14232Attachment 14233

Lastly.. the tiniest HeNe tube, I've ever seen, anyway - it's the cutest little thing... ...and tests to-be gas-intact! Does not have any 'leads' soldered to it for anode/cathode - probably fit into some 'hot' housing / ring-assembly, etc, but it is just the coolest little tube... That is a 'standard' hose-washer in the pic, for 'size-ref'

'Free' (well, for the cost of shipping it to you!...) to a good home... I just wanna see someone, with the time to 'play' with this, get it to light! I think I'd almost pay to see that!

    Attachment 14234

Anyhoo, that's it for now... we do also have a fully-working / excellent tube-health Coherent Purelight Star II WL FS, but I figure, with what we 'fairly' want to to ask for it, ($4-5K-range...) PL is probably not the 'place' to put it up - PM, if interested....and yes, 'Got Pix'... might be into a 'trade' for an 'equivalent-value' RGB-rig...

Anyhoo, mostly, wanna see that little HeNe get lit...
    peace..

I'll take the teeny HeNe if Jerry hasn't already pounced on it =P

I'm sure I could find something around here I could fire it up with - maybe If I get enough resistors I could run it from my spare SP-127 PSU

I have dozens of such mirrors (like 300 pieces for 4 different types, each have same coatings), some would be considered as flats or experimenter's mirrors, but the vast majority is in good shape... if you think they are worth something, it would help me much... reflection from hene wavelengths to far red, a friend has mirrors of the same appearance as HR and OC for a seventies pulsed ruby with nitrobenzene kerr cell and double brewster window

    Shrad,

I have a UV-VIS spectrophotometer if you want to know what they are....
