No worries. I want to hear from the master first. I would guess with the puropose we want to try, the more lines per inch the better. 40 and 60 seem common but, 75 and 100 are floating around there as well. I guess the other thing to take into consideration is the durability of the stuff. Since we'd be using for an unintended use... can it handle being hit with say, a watt of 445 without melting? The lower powers in the Chauvet unit for example probably don't affect it. Plus, I guess it doesn't stand still long enough to burn through.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

... they have high transparency, so shouldn't be an issue with 1 Watt - I've seen some made from glass, so some 'serious wattage' is possible too ;-)

Another idea - I have some hot embossed singlesided 'fly-eye' sheets from Mireco, that were used for plenoptic 'holograms' ... could be usefull for other interesting effects ...

... and have a piece of glass with highly accurate 'fly-eye' lens arrays on both sides, if someone is interested in what happens with a laser beam going through ...

    Steve,

Any idea what the lpi on this was? I've found some 62 lpi sheet plastic that is the best of what I've seen so far, but the effect created is still too wide for use.

    Thanks

    Well.... just being hypothetical.

Although since the purpose of this is more graphical "on the wall" in nature, I guess you don't need THAT much power. But, I'm sure more is better.

... the shop I've linked has lenticular sheets with up to 161lpi, if this should be essential ...

My memory is fuzzy, but 15-20 . I didnt buy it, I had it in my hand. It was not clear lenticular, it had a lite white frost to it. It had really tall triangles projecting out of it and was a diffuse white material. Was told at the time it was a violation of my NDA to even know where they bought it.
That NDA is long expired, so have at it... Might have been a ruled plastic, but at the time, plastic show doors were the latest thing...

Current screen says "Out of budget error in line 10 of program Steve" So you guys will have to try.

Well, we're going to try this: http://www.lenstarlenticular.com/Single/book.htm

as well as the $9.95 sample book from ThruVue. Hopefully I'll have some info to share in about a week and a half.

    Brad,

I don't know about "ThruVue", but the Lenstar kit didn't have anything that produced a desirable effect. The results are all too wide.
