I have read at baxshop : that cable is a mandatory safety action in public.
But it will cost me many years before i can do a show in something public place

The bax-shops ones 40euro :| little bit expensive if that's for 1 clamp !

Th ones from the bax-shop aren't that cheap but with these clambs you can hang the projector in the truss and then clamb it (no fitness arms needed ), the others you have to do both at the same time.
I can tell that if you have a heavy projector it won't be that easy

Don't hang anything in a truss without the safety's, never!!!

Yes don,t save on a good pair of clamps. Remember the accident in the swimming centre where a small child got a heavy speaker dropped on him and he died? They could have prevented that but no the authorities where to lazy to fix things right away. Just imagine you are the father or the mom for 1 sec.......... Perfect example what can happen when things aren,t secured properly.

You can NEVER be to save so the Manfroto is the best i think and with a steel cable attached to a Ringhook bolted in your projector you are save.

Providing the clamp is SWL rated (and maybe the TUV mark) then the brand shouldn't matter. The Manfrotto one will be no more 'safe' than the cheaper unit if they are both rated the same.

The manfroto is the easyiest to work with and so i think the best choice that was what i ment but it seems that you have to be here very specific om PL these days.....

Maybe spending a little less behind the laptop on a LEM would help too because Rizard, Michel and others have these clamps and so you could try them to see how easy they are to work with.

I think they do free shipping. They will all hold their rated weight, but the design of higher quality clamps makes it much easier to install and not scratch/bend everything!

Remember to get the safety cables too, please!

If you've never hung stuff off a truss before, you might wish to have a experienced rigger look at your setup.

I know projectors do not weight much, but it is nice to have some one do the math so the truss is not stressed.

You probably want some "Velcro" straps or cable ties to hold all your cables and power cords to the truss too.

I've checked the manfrotto clamps http://www.thomann.de/nl/manfrotto_035.htm but i won't offer to use these.
Max load 15Kg, there not mend for a laserprojector like a Kvant which Pj has.
A small Kvant is already 13kg, that nearly the limit, better go safe and buy stronger ones.
Like Steve says, maybe first visit a company who riggs on a daily base, so they could help you out how to work safe!

To be fair, I think you just need to say what you mean rather than something else entirely... I'm good, but not a mind reader (although I'm working on it!)

Grey electrical tape if it's silver truss, especially if it's even remotely corporate work, and get everything on the back side of the truss so it can't be seen
