suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
Perhaps I am confused on how waveplates work, but I thought that the amount of polarization rotation was determined by the thickness of the cystal in the waveplate, and such is not adjustable. Adjusting the rotating is what I think is being refered to but maybe some other adjust is needed. Can someone correct my error if I am confused on this?
Waveplates, demystified - Simple-version (..scoot down the page a bit for the info / diag's..):
http://www.redoptronics.com/waveplate.html
..Gory-version..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waveplate
..also, found this, too: http://optics.byu.edu/animation/polarwav.mov ..simple anims, but nice..
..so, basically, the 'cubiplate' would be tricky for multi-up diode arrays, where simply 'rotating' the diodes (vs the 'cubiplate', since any rotation to 'peak' the thruput on the plate-side axis, would begin to send the perpendicular-axis thruput straight to the devil.. ) is not as-desireable / efficient vs simply having an 'independent' waveplate, in it's own rotatable-mount.. Diggin it?
..still, cool-find, and an interesting optic for some-apps...

Hey Guys,
Just a bit of an update. I just recieved a couple of 10mm samples, and efficiency seems quite nice.. A quick test and this is what i measured:
Reflect - in 870mw, out 855mw.
Transmit - in 870mw, out 850mw.
I will leave 1w of 445 pointing at the cube fore the rest of the day. Wondering if it should be a lot more than 1w.

Soooo,
I have had ~3w pointed at the pbs for the last couple of hours, no noticeable change..
I have a second untouched cube - maybe I send it to someone to do some more tests? Any one keen?
