Just got a quote on this product. It is US$3,880 + shipping and handling at today's exchange rates. You could buy FIVE whole laserlinna projectors for this cost.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Well, he COULD! He'd just have a bunch left over for beer. Lots of beer. That's to help him stop wondering what the heck he'd just done, buying five of the same little projector.

And practically half a dozen QM2000 intros for the cost of their Lasergraph DSP!

The beginning of this thread had an offer for the LaserLinna projectors for US$780 (albeit that was two projectors). Calc was US$3,880 / US$780 = 4.9744. No matter how you look at it, that strikes me as pretty darn expensive for a grating module. I'm hoping there will be a more reasonable option like this device soon.

Actually, the original offer was for 3 projectors (1 PD and a pair of 3D's)

The price of a single PD was about £300 which I thought was very reasonable after you'd sold off the scanners, modules and cases. Certainly an astonishing deal compared to what else is available to do the job. All depends on your perspective really.

Ahhh, I did misread that! When I saw two pieces for the 3Ds, I thought it meant projector + remote control = 2 pieces.

I might have to take this deal and do some modding on the devices - although I have too many laser parts sitting in closets already. Speaking of which, it is tax season here, so I wonder if the local charity organizations accept laser parts . . .

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    All,

Just got my projector, all in all it does not seem bad for the money. I have to work this week and so will post a review and pictures at the weekend. But it arrived very quick and seems to be in good order. A couple of issues, but I have emailed Linna for comments before I post anything here. Only fair to get her feedback first.

    Cheers

    Steve

That was pretty quick. Keep us posted. Do you have the ability to use a more powerful laser through the gratings? Wonder how much power they can handle?

Yes, i have powers up to a few watts. I am not sure from my quick look, but it may be the lumia wheels are plastic rather than glass, I suspect this to be the case. With the slow speed of rotation this would limit the power quite heavily, without wanting to replicate the old milar foil trick of the 80s

    I will keep you posted

    Cheers. Steve
