bsancken,
I'm no expert, but here is my nickel's worth of free advice for you:
1: Tend to safety. You have a dangerous laser and malfunctioning scanners operating without solid mounting or enclosures. Maybe nothing bad will happen, but your risk factor is needlessly high. Turn down the power while you're troubleshooting, keep things from moving around, and get some goggles.
2: Loud mechanical clicking is bad. Humming and singing is not unusual depending on the pattern being projected. IF you hear sharp mechanical clicking or tapping, STOP. Find out why and fix it.
3: Wiring can be tricky. From your last video, it looks like you have stuffed medium-gage solid wire into the ILDA port of your DAC. If that's the case, note that that method is hit-or-miss, and may cause the contacts in the DB25 connector to change shape or be pushed out of the housing. Both of these changes are Not Good as they will prevent proper operation of the connector in the future. Get a DB25 plug and wire things up correctly from there. This page is a good read: http://www.pangolin.com/resguide12.htm Iffy connections will cause your scanners to do Bad Things.
Good luck!
