To all texas laserists and ethausists-and those willing to come to Houston for TEXLEMII..

And before the forum etiquette 'police' come down on me for starting ANOTHER thread on TEXLEM-

Those of us who want to see TEXLEM 2013 happen need al the attention we can get. If you cant come or help us then just move on and leave us alone.

This is a feeler for holding a LEM near Houston (most likely close to Pearland)- if we can find a suitable venue there that area has some other attractions- namely a possible nearly free place for us to sleep.
If we can do this event some weekend in May -other than the first- I may be able to get us some briskets and ribs and chicken cooked for us to feast upon by my cook off team that MAY be doing a contest in Pearland the first may weekend.

WE also need around five volunteers to help do all the planning and legwork that is needed. We will need a good turnout to make this happen and we would need a goodly amount paid in advance to avoid failure. Guests would be welcome but some kind of fee would need to come from them too.

If we can get the venue- the guest house and enough attendees the rest will fall into place- Hobby Houston airport is very closeby- rent cars are NOT needed. Please post here about which weekend in May would suit you. Tell us if you can bring paying guests( btw forum members cannot attend as 'guests')-- unless we get a good number of interested folks TEXLEM will NOT happen.

payments would need to come in 30 days before the event- refunds will happen if we cannot pull this off.

Tim Walsh gives his full support but unfortunetly his schedule may keep him from helping much or (sadly )maybe even attending.

Regrettably, there would basically be no possible way for me to attend. May is my 90 hour work week month. I think I clocked out with 99.25 hours one week last year.

There were 16 or so "laser folks" that showed up from across Texas, as well as West and East coasts! Over twenty people in total, if you count the few additional guests that showed up, as well as people from Urban-15 that stayed around and particpated. Really a good turnout for a first LEM (IMO).

Dang, now I'm craving some of Len's BBQ and that fried rice that he put together! Good lasers, good info, good food, good friends and good times!!!
