suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
I have a Goldenstar SRGB2000, and I guess one or more of the modules are CNI. CNI seems to be one of the prefferd brands for modules produced in China.
Bulding quality are really nice, and the box itself is of good quality as far as I can tell. If the laser is not shipped yet, and you did`nt order the flightcase, i highly would suggest you to do so also. It is cheap, and protects the bumpy ride from China.
Good luck with your new beamer. :-)

Thanks for the replies Guys. One last question, has anyone swapped the driver board for a true analogue board/boards (Badpip, Flexmods etc) on one of these?
Cheers
Colin.

I was in the process of swapping out the driver board with Flexmods. Flexmods work great for the blue and red, but not so much for the green. It was pointed out to me that the green is most likely a laser pointer core and does not respond well to true analog modulation. This is probably why the designer does not want to modify the circuit since it will point out the flaw in the green diode (just my opinion). I have cancelled my plans to upgrade this driver and will be purchasing the RGB DTR bundle soon. As for the Chi Brick RGB. I am still happy with it for the price I use it all the time and have never had any issues. I am considering buying a second one for Lumia but that is on the bottom of the list DT-40 scanners and RGB diode bundle come first.
Just bought this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1511867955...84.m1497.l2648
Will do a review of it when I get it.
Cheers
Colin.

The Goldenstarbox was a USD 900,- deal, so the result is far better than i hoped for. The 532 is pencil sharp and modulates well. The 450 is a litte bit bigger as expected and and modulates well. The 638 is the downside of the box as it is far to wide to give a dicent whitebalance. The modulation of the 638 is good.
I did not read the description for the projector on Goldenstarlaser.com to well, and the DT30 turned out to be low end scanners with the same speed. If i had red the description in detail, I might have cached that. Overall the performance for under a grand is more than good enough. All the information and help I received from Winni, is also far more than i have ever experienced with other chineese companies.

Scanners are on sold on specs. and the main sellingpoint are speed. 30K are possible with lowend scanners, but with limited scanningangle. Some producers claim to reach 30K with the ILDA test, but the truth is that the visual result is rather poor, compared to more expesive brands as Dragon Tiger (DT), Cambridge Technology and EyeMagic even thoug they claim to have the same performance.
Good luck with your projector, and keep in mind that its not a toy. Think safety, and use goggles.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with DT-30's. Mine seem to run happier at 27k, or 30k at a slightly lower angle, but I can live with that considering the price. There's not that much difference between 30k and 27k. And with "happier at 27k", I mean that the circle in the Ilda test pattern is perfectly inside the square, it's not like you'll see large errors in the image when you run them higher.
Well, I've had my RGB brick 2 days and with playing around fitting it into my KAM Laserscan RGY 170 unit, it seems I've blown the Blue diode. So close to playing with RGB. It was all together, I powered it up and Red, Green, no Blue. Gutted!
I've powered it up with out any connection to the inputs and all I get is Yellow where I used to get white.
I don't think I can repair it as the diode can is pressed into a 8mm diameter by 4 mm thick brass block which goes into an ally block and is held in place by another brass fitting, which screws into the ally block followed by a spring and the focusing ring.
The diode itself is approx. 3mm across the brass base with a 2.5mm can the can sticks out from the base 2mm. The brass fitting that holds the diode assembly into the ally block has a hole in the centre to allow the can to poke through. The diode specs were 445nm 150mW.
Haven't seen another 400mw brick for the price I got it for and from a UK seller, so it looks like I'm saving up for a more expensive one from China.![]()
