Did mine come out of that block of brass or is that a further run of mounts?

    Impressive looking mill.

a bit more machining shizzle for you all

this time face milling, included with the mill was a 100mm face mill. 4 cutters and indexable

this is how the base plate looked at the start

doing a few passes at 0.1mm depths it ends up looking like this

so i need a load of cylindrical lens raisers

    i started with a lump of ally 60mm by 150mm by 10mm

machined some holes and slot in it and machined it down to 7mm thick

then made a jig with holes only this time, each one tapped with my tapping head

bolted the bit of holes and slots to the jig

    then cut each one out

spent most of the day faffing round with this but its done now

so i needed a load of single diode holders, so here goes another run. i want 20 in total

so machined the ally the right size

drilled and tapped all holes front and back and mounting holes

    made a jig

bolted the bars to the jig

cut them out and bosh 20 diode holders

    Nice work Andy

    You've got that thing hummin!

Your tapping tool info has inspired me to get one. I'm going to take the plunge and buy a tapping head soon.

    Cheers
    Kit
