    Hi Bob,
Thanks for the kind words. I am verifying the new prices and may make an adjustment in the asking price after evaluating what they cost new. All six lasers are in like new condition with low hours and do span most of the visible spectrum and hey...we have lasers to add. Most people never end up using the warranty anyway; companias make sure. Phil

    Hi,
I have now priced the lasers and modulators and buying new it looks to be about $50K. So in like new condition with around 550 hours use an asking price of half that seems reasonable as a starting point...asking $25K for all six high end lasers and three modulator systems. We are open to serious offers on the whole laser lab starter "kit" or on individual lasers from the lot. Contact me for more information.

I know for PL the price seems high however if you could buy a like new condition $50K Mercedes with 5K mikes on it for half new cost that would be a fair deal right? This is similar, just lasers not a car. Thanks, Phil (813) 974-2378

    Hi Everyone,
I finally got all the makers to respond about pricing. These lasers (including 3 AO modulators) are about $50K new. So I am "bumping" my asking price to $20K. This is a great deal for a laser lab at a university... Best, Phil

Understand the 'just in case' / fwiw-rationale of posting, here, but.. Bob / Eric kinda hit the nail on the head, and there's prolly little to no-chance of anyone in PLandia that would drop that kind of coin for so little power - and 'sci-value' is lost on most, here, anyway, awesome as it is.. BUT - I have a *potential* lead for you..

Get in touch with this guy - http://www.opticsjournal.com/fjduarte.htm Great guy, über-brilliant, very personable.. I spent the better part of 5 yrs waay-back in the day, doing 'pub drawings' for him (ie: ...the 'bland' little b+w drawings of optics layouts / experiments, here: http://www.fjduarte.com ..) and other research-scientists @ E.Kodak Co.. I spent many hours in his amazing-lab, asking him a million-questions, fascinated at the colors he was getting out of (IIRC..) a custom HeNe-Cd laser, or some variant thereof, that was making RYG and B (..and no, it was not an 'Omnichrome' Ar/Kr - this was coming out of a "HeNe" tube.. ) ..and where I also fell in love with dye-lasers' range..

Anyhoo, I can make *no guarantees* he'll be interested in these, but.. he might-be! He also might very-well know people / universities, etc that might have an interest / applications, etc.. But, since he is one of those people, like Bob-ref'd, that would more-typically 'spend other people's $$', for research-experiments, I'd not 'lower the price' too-far from fair market-value - then it ends up sounding 'fishy', etc.. And, he's a research-scientist of the highest-caliber, so, he'd also not be interested in a 'bargain', if that might mean instability / repeatability or longevity-issues...

Again, I can't 'speak for the guy', etc, but.. he's personable-enough to warrant an exploratory-email, at least - if he's not interested, he might know-someone / some .edu..

Laser Warning Thanks for helping...Lab Lasers here:)

Thanks, these are a nice "set" for say a laser physics lab starting up. New faculty members setting up such a lab in a university department have "startup" funding...$$$$$$ Foe someone like this buying like equipment they may need anyway at less than half new cost may be a good find. I understand you don't need or even want these lasers for light shows. Everyone appreciates a good tight uniform beam but you can get that far cjeaper than these lasers; they are designed for science nerd experiments in Electrical Engineering or Physics, Chemistry, Biology etc. Best to all, Phil
