Default broke my mirror off the galvo....

So, I learned not to have on a long sleeve shirt while working on my projector...

I have a set of 20k china galvos. I broke the mirror off...

The mirror will fit back in the slot, and hold its self in place, but that is about it...

Any one know what kind of glue they used?

I have a set of replacement mirrors, but I am afraid to use the wrong glue...

    Thanks

Two part epoxy will do fine. Other glues give off fumes that can damage the coating on the mirrors. Don't use too much as this adds weight, slowing down the galvo.

    Don't use superglue/cyanoacrylate!

Do I try and remove the glue that is there? Or since it just popped out of the slot, put a small dab in the end and stick it back in the slot?

i would try and remove the glue in there. you can use a little heat from a soldering iron to loosen it up

Took the glue off the best I could. Used a very small amount of 2 part weak epoxy. Tested it on a test surface to see if it could be removed, after it cured. That worked, so I replaced the mirror....

    So far so good.

This I think is why you learn with cheap o stuff first... I would have shat myself if it was a 1k galvo
