Note that this is, I believe, an FB3 card with a W-DMX module in the box with it; therefore not wireless ILDA control, just wireless dmx control of the cues/frames stored on the FB3's SD card.
W-DMX is pretty reliable though. I have a bundle of CORE LED battery lighting that runs on W-DMX and have used them in multiple rooms in VERY solid buildings like Somerset House in London and they didn't flinch at being 100meters apart and through solid stone walls etc...

You'd still have to run some sort of wired interloc/e-stop though wouldn't you?
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

If it's just a fb3 with accesspoint included i guess you can only connect to one of these at a time?

I have run my FB3 on an old computer sitting next to my project that is hooked up to a wireless router. From there, I can use either my laptop or tablet to RDP into the box that's running QS. I run my QM2000 computer that way sometimes as well.

Stanwax also sells an ILDA to 2X RJ45 adapters for long runs. I made my own and they work well running CAT6e. When I get home, I will take pics. I have run 100' without any problems.

Ok, it's not working like i thought it did
Problem here is that most people have there smartphone with them at a gig, and no one turns of the wifi.
This results in a very crowdy wifi surrounding where a access point gets loads and loads of request and have to reject.
Most of the time this results in a instable Wifi connection and that's why i never use wireless systems.
And like Wookieboy said, how about the e-stop?

I often wondered if PMR might be the answer. Wouldn't work at festivals etc where workers have PMR but would be ideal in a club as its very unlikely at night anyone else in range would be operating a PMR set.

Problem for developers is I'd bet that each country has their own system / frequencies.

After reading through a few threads mentioning the Startech USB2004EXT2 as a viable solution, I found the Icron USB Ranger 2004 for about $100 less which seems to be identical. In fact I found an article suggesting they're the oem for the startech unit.

I've been using it for shows for the last month or so with excellent results. Have only tested it with up to 3 fb3's, but no difference in pps when extended 100 meters vs connected directly. The specs suggest it supports 14 usb devices with the use of usb hubs, though I'm sure bandwidth would be an issue at some point, it appears as if it would be great with 4 fb3's as was tested with the startech or possibly even a few more.

Interestingly they also have usb over fiber extenders for cable runs up to 10 KM

Thanks for that heads up, I might see if I can source one over here, although having a quick Google, I can't even seem to find much about them at all. seems like there's some new ones too, 2104 and 2204, wonder if they're the same protocol.

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

This year apparently but they're being quite coy about anything concrete.
