Gilmour Floyd Concert/Pink Floyd @ Tower Theater, Fresno Ca

Well, my son and I did "Gilmour Floyd Pink Floyd Tribute Band Concert" @ the Tower Theater in Fresno this weekend and we blew it over the moon. We had 15 watts of white light lasers running simultaneously in sync with not only the music but also the words to the songs. We had 2 lasers @ 1.5 watts at the outer edge & 2 @ 5 watts behind the band doing beams. We also had a 2 watt laser doing timed and themed graphics on the back screen/wall.
All the beam lasers projectors were programmed shows that my son designed and the graphics laser was programmed by me to not only to be in sync with the music but also to represent the words and mood of the music.

There will be videos posted as soon as I can get them broken down into individual songs .

I will also be posting a couple of the graphic shows for download.
Most likely I will post "Marooned", David Gilmour's "Short and Sweet", and "Dogs of War"
I did full graphic shows that matched the words and the mood of the song.
I programmed the graphic show to make use of what the song was saying not just throwing misc. graphics behind the band
What we did was to make it a real laser show for the band. So much so we got a standing ovation for the laser show at the end of the show.
The band and the theater management were so happy with us that they have asked us back for next year.
Now we are in the Big Time......

Will they be QS shows or ild format? Hope one or the other....ild would be probably be useful to a more diverse crowd of projectionists...

Congrats, Steve! ...Sounds like you did a great job... Hated having to turn this down, but.. some Clients just don't understand the meaning of 'ONE-TIME ONLY' pricing... ..and, then even-when you do end-up 'bending-over' / acquiescing, they still wanna skewer you because you have the 'audacity' to ask for a standard Deposit, and not a 'layaway-plan'... I'd also be a little careful with that 'management', because they were using our Logo / Brand to *promote* the show ("Laser Show by Laserium..") for some-months before they booked us.. (..and then they said '...we're going in a different direction' when it came time to book with the Deposit..)...some 'thanks', eh?

..I suppose I could have pushed for our-rights to 'stick a fork in their kiester' for 'damages', based on them using our name / reputation and past-werk, to promote their tik-sales - (and then not giving us the work..), but.. some things are just 'not worth the powder to blow them up', and that client (the management, NOT the Band, themselves - they're great..) is one-such, imo..

Ah, cool.. then you should appreciate these hand-drawn frames, we did for them (..including a custom-version of the band Logo!.. ) - http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...562#post224562 - Not sure if you'll be able to use the .lds, (which have the nicest-coloration..) but.. fwiw..

Heh - that's what we told ourselves, too.. Played LivePro / live-prism-scans / twin L/Rs for aerials, and got 'standing ovations' both years as well.. Hard to tell what was 'for the Band' (vs lasers..) sometimes, since they are an *awesome* cover-band, and Danny, one of our laserists, is second-to-none, when it comes to playing live to Floyd...

Indeed... Did you guys have to wait a long-time to get yer Variance? ..and, (so, maybe we can 'x-rent', sometime..) who's Rigs are ya runnin, X-Laser? (..I assume they're something Certified.. ya know - that's what we all in the 'Big Time' expect of other 'Big Timers'..

PS - I think I may have met you, some years-ago, in Fresno, yes? 'Steve Wall' rings some faint memory-bell, somewhere.. Anyhoo, Congrats on inheriting a really nice 'PITA'..
