Thats is a bit of a scary thought pango buying LSX...

There's one thing missing from the conversation. In order for one thing to be bought, something must be offered for sale in the first place! Who says that what Pangolin says goes? Who says that whenever Pangolin acquires something, it must be Pangolin who proposed the purchase in the first place?

In everything we do, we seek win-win scenarios (habit 4 by the way). We would only buy something if we thought it was a way for all parties to win. I'm sure principled sellers would say the same...

I can't comment your busines solutions... only some words about our hardware:

The thing is that Pangolin is a very quality oriented company. We examined the RIYA hardware being offered at the time (a two-layer PCI board) and it just wasn't up to our quality standards (in addition to not actually meeting the official PCI spec itself). That particular board also had a reputation for randomly crashing PCs as well -- not something Pangolin would be proud to put our name on... At that particular time, we had discussions with Ihor about making an alternative board with 4 layers instead of 2, but, because 2 layer manufacturers were plentiful in Ukraine but 4 layer manufacturers were not, by the time Ihor would be able to make one, he calculated that the price would be equal to our QM2000 itself, so it was not deemed a worthwhile endeavor.

I am not ashamed for our development (PCI controller): we used big FPGA chip with many pins, which captured all lines of PCI interface directly near PCI connector; that allowed us to use double-layer PCboard. But migration from two-layers board to four-layers board can't be a problem: many people have good qualification as electronic engineers here. I think they can confirm, that for PCB tracer are enough five minutes for add the extra layers and retrace 2-layers-PCboard to 4-layers.
We did not realized in this controller a separate microsystem (with enormous RAM) for complete placing and preparing of whole laser show, as is in your Ld2000 system... but you also decline this architecture in your next developing (I'am about Fb3...).
But for real time mode our PCI controller is faster, and have better timing quality that your LD2000: we have Fpga-based+dual-port-ram architecture (and realy multi processes work...) against your microprocessor+fifo architecture

That particular board also had a reputation for randomly crashing PCs as well ...

I do not remember such report from you within our meet.
Anyway, anyone can't exclude similar situation;
if you have such information - write please who, where and when had PC crash from our controllers; my be these people ten years are waiting satisfaction from me

Maybe yes. It's one of the things we will be looking at in the coming weeks.

And regarding Celebrity Press, they do a lot of things. I think the only people who can make qualified comments are people who are in the group or have been in the group!
