That was very well written, Robin, almost poetic. Very enjoyable read.
..and I thought I was the only one who got the Sunday afternoon "dreads" (as the wife calls them) .. (oh, she gets them too .. I should have said "we" ) ..
I see I'm in good company ..
Sorry to hear that you don't have sundays off dzodzo ..
Well, I'm currently touring a show, so every day is a work day...
But I do get the odd Monday or Tuesday off... in which I tend to drink a few beers then sleep!
(If I don't, then the fear sets in... what will tomorrows venue not have done on the rider to make my day just that little bit more interesting?)
So I suppose Tuesdays are my Sundays at the moment?
If in doubt... Give it a clout?
Today I unwound by continuing working on the overhaul of the CNC lathe; I did most of the mounting + wiring today.
I still need to fit the Kopex and take the tool changer to bits; then wire in the spindle drive + fiddle around interfacing the front panel controls. I've chucked in a mini PC, and have mounted a decent touchscreen to the side of it for control 'n' that. The mechanics of it have all now been restored and are all shiny shiny, new new, better than ever; just the 'lectrics to finish. Maybe next Sunday?

Eat Sleep Lase Repeat
All right! I am also into R/C planes, nothin' better on a Sunday Afternoon [with bad weather outside] than being in my basement and saying ***"Glue's drying, photons are flying!"***. Like this week when I was waiting for my horizontal stabilizer to set up on a new build I was tinkering around with some logo graphics on my projector using Inkscape and LSX.....

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
Now that is what i call a nice view!!!![]()

That's the sea in the distance.
Just behind me is a local landmark called the Long Man of Wilmington.
IF you go straight up from his head in this picture, just over the top is where I was flying. You have to walk up the ridge to the right to get there.

I'm as addicted to RC as I am to Lasers if not a little more. Here are a couple of my pride and joy collection. At last count I had 22 airplanes and 11 helicopters and that was a few years ago. I'm sure I'm over 30 planes now. For our wedding part of her vows was to let me go flying on Sundays.
