Do you think it's "normal" to start a show with Beyond and finally drop to Quickshow because of the bugs ?
I'd very much like to hear what build you're using because there's nothing buggy about Beyond.

I'd say categorically in my opinion its THE most stable laser program on the market today bar none and probably the most feature packed program on the market bar none, and I've spent more time deliberately breaking it in the past than most. I doubt QS even comes close these days to Beyonds bug status and QS was good on functionality last time I tried it.

ATM, I'm struggling to find any single bug in any main area or operation of the program on Build 546. I have to confess I haven't been able to spend much time recently, but I've still spent enough. You could put my user time on Beyond in the last 2 years to literally thousands of hours. I dare say, probably if you dig hard enough into any of the newer sub modules you might find something but even then it would be rare. Its stability and operational purity is simply amazing for such a complex program.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I'm using the V 1.60 build 509, and per example is the "one cue"-> "set one cue per projection zone" is working for you ? for me on quick show it's ok, but not on beyond, so it as no sense doing a party with 2 fb3 displaying the same frame.

I'm on V1.75, build 534 and thats a fairly general release as far as I understand it. The rate of progress has been very significant since about 507, so if you aren't on a later release you really need to get an update and check if the things you couldn't do, still can't be done.

For what it's worth, I've just spent an hour or so playing with synths in Beyond and I've turned out a couple of awesome 'Swami quality' abstracts through a bit of random fiddling (to take nothing away from what Swami does).

The real magic is the show creation, and 'art' rather than just the mechanics of making a pretty moving picture.

It really isn't about the tool you use, it's how you use it. I've always been quite realistic about my work - I'm a techie, and the art is sometimes lost, and I'm in awe of some of the people I work with for the 'art' they bring to a gig. Equally, some people are impressed by what I do from a 'techie' perspective, so it's swings and roundabouts...

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

It's nothing new, it's just me seeing if you can do the same sort of stuff in Beyond Plagiarism at it's finest!

I'll have to see if I can find a screen capture app. Can't seem to find a way to capture the output to video or generate an avi or similar from inside Beyond.

Ok, the frame rate is really poor for some reason, but I'm sure you get the idea.
There's a really nice 'smooth tails' option that 'pretties' them up a lot!
