it was pretty lovely to see it in my living room. i wish it had been spooling out of a z5 while i was watching it.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

after seeing the awesome stuff from dz's z5, i thought i'd try my hand at making lsx do those old school spirals and color modulations.

this is a little rough because i'm mashing buttons and driving things in real time instead of pre-sequencing, but i think some of the harmonics are nicely melty.

edit: here's the LSX show file that is the basis for my experiments. enjoy and make something melty! http://www.monkeyhands.com/images/ph...ool-spiral.rtd

...IF it 'lands' (..and that's more to-say, IF they're gonna do a 'listening event', at-all, tbd..) ..I'm gonna need 'button masher and real-time thing-driver'-help, so... IF it lands.. Ya wanna 'pack yer pistols' and come to LA fer a few days?

..Actually, I'd *love* to jet DZ and his Z5 out here, too (..especially for a 'PF project'.. but.. we'll see if it even IS-anything, to get people all 'looking at burning-up vacation time-for'.. ..We'll see..

Absolutely NO disrespect to DZ and, I think he might agree... from a performance standpoint, you might consider ImageLight for actually spinning the dials. What DZ builds is art... no question about it, but in the hands of an artist with what he built as the tool... ImageLight is an "unofficial" acknowledged master. Even by Ashe McFadden who designen the original in the first place.

Of course Jon, you should have DZ come as a consultant as well....you know, being as it's Floyd and all.

for those of you playing along at home...

dz posted some beautiful analog abstracts from his Z5 and color oscillators.

swami mashed buttons in LSX to make something kind of like it, but not as good.

cmb did some very smart things with expressions.

swami took cmb's very smart thing and pounded on it with his monkey hands until this happened:

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Yummy.. Especially like the #2 'Psychololly'.. ...and, correct me if I'm wrong, but.. we're looking at Ion-line colors, aren't we?.. '..Ain't nothin like the real-thing, Baybeh...'

Indeed.. Already way ahead of ya on that thought.. ...But, first, we have to see if they 'bite on the concept-worm'... I'm sure - IF there's anything going to-happen - produced by Sony / Columb, either here or in NY / elsewhere - we'll likely be the ones to 'get tapped' for it, but.. IF, is the key-phrase, so.. We'll see.. They may-choose to 'do nothing', cause, while it *is* PF.. it's sort of being hailed as not really "new" / a huge-deal, as-if it were a 'true-reunion' / all-new material.. Still, as I, in essence said to them.. '..why the heckfire not - it's PFF!!!

..And, as I understand, 'Endless River' is supposed to be 'quite ambient', etc, much in the vain as Gilmour's work on the Orb's 'Metallic Spheres' album - which made for an *awesome* nite / Live-form-laser sho, so.. Thus, 'my pitch'..

Absolutely! Can't have a Z5 goin down right before sho-time, w/o a Top Tech, in-house.. I'm sure we could 'work that in'.. But, again.. 'we'll see if they bite'..

Planetarium style, multi-projector. Only two scan-heads right now. I should have my other two up and running soon, just waiting for some 506s. Once I get all 4 in tip top health, I'll get video (less flicker). I have found the AM in Beyond! This was missing in LD2K and I am happy to see it in Beyond. It has a few bugs in it right now (only able to utilize sine) which I have sent an email to Pangolin about. Throwing AM into the mix has completely opened up the Classic LD2K abstract generator.
