    it must be difficult to realize your own obsolescence eh?

    your little clique of "old school laserists" instead of trying to give back to the community that gives you relevance once again you continue to live in a world of imaginary elitism and secrecy, sad

    I love analog consoles and abstracts as much as the next guy but if 1% of all laser show related income came from live abstract shows I would be blown away, but instead of trying to revive it by having people work together and push the tools that create the art forward, we get fragmented efforts in reverse engineering which really help very few/nobody

    and I am sorry if you feel I am singling you out because it's not just you

    Flecom. At Selem next year I'm going to show you a pile of PDFs on a specific disease treatment.

    I'll then expect you to apologize and give yourself a swirly in the women's room at that time. Else I will whack you with a purple Nitrile lab glove in the gentlemanly fashion and expect satisfaction at a dawn Trout Slapping Dual at Two meters.

    You have no idea of the irony of your Cancer remark. That rather deeply hurt.

    regardless of your current work (since I am guessing you are doing disease research out of employment and not the goodness of your heart) my comments towards you and your attitude towards the laser community still stand

    I am so tired of the secret squirrel cloak and dagger "sekret sauce" bs, it helps nobody

    the only reason I stick around is I *KNOW* there are some genuinely good people in this community that can look beyond their own self-interests and egos

    It's not about the brushes, paint, or canvas it's about the image, it's about the art. I'm not holding you back, they aren't holding you back, but perhaps the time you spend misunderstanding, bitching, and looking backward with your eyes closed gets in the way a bit...

    Generating four waves of two frequencies in Phase Quadrature:
    (I'm sure Swami will be around to correct my math)

    A = Amplitude, Ft = Freuquency, T = timestep.

    X1(t) = A(Sin(2pi *Ft))
    Y1(t) = A (Sin (2pi* Ft+ 90))

    X2(t) = A(Sin(2pi *Ft))
    Y2(t) = A(Sin (2pi* Ft+ 90))

    Plotting Them as functions:

    For Lissajous the plot is :

    Xaxis = X1 + Phase Shift
    Yaxis = Y1

    For an Innie:

    Xaxis = X1 + Y1
    Yaxis = X2 + Y2

    For an Outie:

    Xaxis = X1 - Y1
    Yaxis = Y1 + Y2

    For a complex pattern:

    Case A:
    Xaxis = X1 * X2
    Yaxis = Y1 * Y2

    Case B:

    Xaxis = X1 * Y1
    Yaxis = X2 * Y2

    Case C:

    Xaxis = -X1 * X2
    Yaxis = Y1 * Y2

    Case D:

    Xaxis = -X1 * X2
    Y Axis = -Y1 * Y2

    Case E, 2D spherical appearing:

    Xaxis = X1 + X2
    Y Axis = Y1

    Then you get fancy, Adding the results of more then one case. Or Adding in a third quadrature oscillator.

    Ye doth protest too much.

    There is a real interesting 15-20 year old story about two competing products both releasing software geometric correction at a conference, too. Didn't make a cent off that one either. I was young and stupid, owned both products, and did ""social engineering" on two of my friends. Sent one the math when he was struggling. Told the other one about it. He did his own math. BAD MOVE, professionally. One bought me a beer in the end. He being older and wiser, knew why I did it for a art I loved.

    The other well, he tolerates my presence. I was young and thought it was a good idea to mess with them. I've had to learn to control that habit. And if your reading this, Sorry, old Friend.

    Actions have consequences. One gets older, one learns to manage those consequences. Has had to be that way since Eve listened to a Snake that wasn't a Snake because she thought it would be fun. And if you read the Book, That's why snakes no longer make a sound. The price of Eve having been given "Free Will" The real snakes had nothing to do with this, Yet they cannot make a sound.
    Interesting world we live in, yes?

    Search PL, find "Harmonograph" in my posts, and go read it. Then get out your oscilloscope in X-Y mode, then turn back on the timebase.

    If you ask, and network with people, some times you will receive what you ask for. Other times you will Not. Eventually you learn that some times you cannot always have what you want.

    Uh huh, you sure are not moving anything forward, the "haha I know something that you don't" attitude has just exhausted me

    If the past doesn't matter why do you guys guard it like the Holy grail?

    And Steve you bringing up geometric correction is funny since I got that corrector from you with all the chips sanded down, riddle me this how many geometric correctors do you think the industry as a whole will sell this year?

    Again the only people that really care now are hobbyists and the select few masochists that still do this stuff in an attempt for money, and I'm sure 90%+ paid shows are beam shows which don't need geometric correction

    Are you drunk? Or just completely disconnected from the world? Imagine if the Linux guys had taken that attitude

    Hell this forum runs on vBulletin, that uses php and mysql, both open source projects, along with probably most of the other software that makes this website and a great majority of the Internet even possible

    Do "Linux guys" put up with "I deserve to be spoon fed" self righteousness? Really?
