I just downloaded a demo of quickshow, i will start to have a look at it and yes, actually coming to this show would be a great idea. Thank you for letting me know.
Qs is very easy to use and biased towards live play. It also has quite a lot of power if you really begin to dig (a lot of it is hidden away).

That said, there are more powerful options on the market, it all comes down to ease vs power.

Adams suggestion of going to the LEM is a good one as then you can get to see all kinds of software in use and have a play and then decide. August isn't that far away and in the mean time at least you can play with ishow or the QS demo.

Now you have an FB3 you also have a few other software options available to you. LivePro, which is a slightly ageing but very capable live performance software (I use this) and also Beyond which cover live, timeline, 3D content generation and most other stuff too. I use this as well. Like you, I mainly do 'busked' shows rather than pre-written content.
The biggest thing for live performance is the human interface, so look at what you can add in the way of midi/OSC/touchscreens.
Also, check out Moncha and Fiesta if you're going to look at other software still. Also Phoenix Live has some novel features I hear, and they've just been bought by Pangolin

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Hi Norty
thank you, i will focus on QS in the next following weeks, trying to get the most out of it. But as what i will mainly do will be club nights with djs i will focus on "live" stuff and what i heard is called "audience scanning" i will def have to check out also what you suggested. Is there a way to download a LivePro demo? I also have a novation SLMk2 that i use to play virtual instruments so next step after i am a bit confident with QS will be plug that in.

    Thank you
    Gianluca

From the sounds of your other thread, you probably aren't going to be/shouldn't be doing any laser shows, especially not audience scanning, until you are all correctly varianced.
I suspect from the fact your projector came with iShow, it is not compliant with basic requirements for use in the US.

The other thing I noticed right off the bat was, you're from New York. Not only do you have federal regs to deal with, you have a pretty substantial requirement for licensure from your own state. You've got a lot to do and, a lot to learn before you start *thinking* about doing a show in New York. A lot of experienced professionals even shy away from New York. Now.. if this laser is for use in Italy and you're only in New York temporarily, then forget what I said (however you need to look at Italy's requirements!)

Lasers aren't something you just buy and go play with in public, like other DJ club lights.

yea what brad said NY is tough and expensive it cost $600 per mobile laser registration for 3 years and i think the license is $150 for 3 years
and the test is crazy its on laser physics ,math lots of math and biology of the human eye and either 1 year intern ship or an approved course

look up NYS code rule 50
and i would totally forget audience scanning

if you need some help im kinda in you neck of the woods (and i am a nys class B license holder)

ill send you a pm with my contact info if you want to chat

i'm actually doing a show out in Astoria this weekend (after party for EDC)
