Advice on Laser Upgrades (CS-2000RGB)
Afternoon all,
I've managed to get my mitts on a Laserworld CS-2000RGB (foc!) which from doing my homework is pretty underrated - in pretty much every way!
Gave it a good run at the weekend, and I was slightly less than impressed - I think most of it was down to poor galvos/wide scan.
Was running at a pretty high scan angle, 10-15deg, and had to drop them to about 7k for a decent image - very flickery however!
First in my line of site is to upgrade the gavlos and amps themselves - I've got a set of 50k@8 galvos kicking about (Chinese I think - so I'm not expecting 50k realistically!) which I'm going to swap in and tune, see what I can get out of it.
As regards the rest of the unit, what should my next step in upgrade be? Eventually I'll likely replace it all bar the case, not sure if there is an order to be followed?

Welcome to the forum, Scott!
A friend of mine has 2 of these, they are junk. Laserworld blatantly lies about their output power, and for some reason they rate their scan speed at 4 degrees. So, new galvos is a start, but I'd replace all 3 laser modules as well, and switch to analog modulation.

Its all poor marketing in my eyes - cut the mustard for what I needed to run, but wont for anything bigger!
I think i'll need to do some homework on replacing the diodes - andy, I'd be interested in having a chat about the modules
On the plus side I've at least got a case and some fans!!

I am in the process of doing up a canton laserphoto lp310. Going well so far. I have put edisons red and blue modules. I just put an Edmonds ar window in this morning. It reduced back reflections by about 80%.
