    Default Greetings

Well I guess I have been on this forum for about a month and have never truly introduced myself.

I am Jason and live in OH (Columbus area). I have mostly been building robots for the past 7 years but my side hobby has always been lasers. This spring I took down all my laser equipment and started tinkering with it. Of course it has led to me waiting to improve it as much as I can afford so I have decided that my summer project will be build a new laser projector. Here's what I got so far

    20K laserwinkle scanners
    50mW 532nm
    M140 Blue
OLSD DAC (Using a Nano with Chris's firmware) Thanks Chris for making this open source.
    LSX Software
Computer Case to put it all in
Laser drivers TBD (Most likely Drlava ones, but in the mean time prob Sam's Laser FAQ design)

Going to make this projector monochrome and once its finished probably start a RGB 500mW or so. I want to make a nice optics plate for that so its going to be a project all on its own.

Anyway I really appreciate all the help I have received so far from this forum. I am working on pulling the funds together to come down to SELEM so I can meet many of you in person.

buy up a badpip quad and get the dtr rgb diode pack. You'll be up and running full color in a few days. The flexmods are assume when you can get them. I hear they are in production right now so we will see when they are done but badpip is shipping now.

Welcome to the Forum... There a lot of projector knowledgeable
    members here.

What type of robots have you built ??

I have an electric go cart with and articulated chassis that I drive around the neighbor hood. I have a small 2 wheel servo driven marble shooter that can shoot a marble 15ft not including the bounce. I have a 6 wheel drive base that I haven't decided what to do with yet. Might make that one into a utility bot to carry bags of mulch and dirt. Right now I just chase cars with that one. The last one I have is a multi-joint robot arm that a school was going to throw away. Didn't build that one but last summer hooked that one up to an NI cRio and PID all the joints and made a program to record moves into an array and then play back the array in sequential order. All the rest I have fabricated from scratch and did all the machining in my garage. All the control systems vary from bot to bot. Everything from PIC (C code) to Arduino (Almost C code) to cRio (Labview).

Above and beyond that I mentor a FIRST Robotics team every winter to help High School students compete in a competition every year. Been doing that for 6 years now and every year is a totally different robot design. Its basically second Christmas for me (well don't tell my family but I actually like that better than Christmas).

Cool. Maybe you can invent some sort of triple-axis XYZ servo robotic mirror thing that can bounce laser beams around in a new way that nobody's thought of before .. or something .. anyway, sounds like cool stuff that you do!
