    Aww...man. See? Told ya.

That's ok... we've got Chip Kelly now so "maybe" Philly can get things turned around.

I also have someone possibly contacting you about a projector that could very well serve your purpose well. I'm not certain on the status of the CDRH on these but, it's a Kvant Atom and I think they are possibly approved or nearing it. It was offered to me but, it's not in the financial cards right now. You can also ask Marc about them since he's a Kvant dealer.

yeah.. you can't go wrong with LSX and an ether-dream DAC! plus, it's less than the cost of QuickShow/FB3.

here's a couple things i've made with it:

Edit - ok, I just went back and watched it. No... probably not LSX and no, not as good as Swami's work. I stand corrected BUT.... you would still probably be very pleased with LSX and it's worth a look. Take a look at some of the stuff Swamidog is creating these days.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Thanks Swami, Brad and Steve. I just got in touch with Marc and he is coming up next week. I am helping him with LEDs and he is helping with a laser system. Sounds like a 5W custom RGB system should meet my needs.

One thing to mention. One never knows what state the projector is going to boot up in, unless it has the internal shutter option. In these cases I cannot stress the importance of having a mask in front of the projector when using it in a intimate setting.

Sadly, due to the mess of cheap Asian imports, safety masks or barndoors, and the good habits they breed, have went the way of the Dodo.

One other thing, don't let the laser beam hit the video projector lens, it leads to a risk of having black spots projected in the game video.

Marc will take care good care of you.

One final suggestion: if you are still on the fence as to exactly how much power you need, or which software package will best suit your application, consider coming to the 7th annual South Eastern Laser Enthuisast's Meeting (SELEM) in Newton, North Carolina from August 16th through August 18th.

Marc from CT Lasers will probably be there, along with everyone else who has posted in this thread so far, and lots of other PL members too. Both X-laser and Pangolin will be present, along with several other developers (including Andrew Kibler, author of the LSX software).

You'll get a chance to see dozens of different projectors and at least 6 different software packages in action. (Plus you'll meet some very cool people and have a hell of a lot of fun...)
