Default Big Yag Power Supply Question

I got my big YAG laser welder this weekend. It is a flashlamp driven Lumonics/JL Laser MS-830LD, 55J/400Wavg multimode, 120Wavg TEM00.

It has taps for 208, 220 and 380v 3 phase. I have 240v 3 phase. There is no spec in the manual for input voltage tolerances. Do I need an autotransformer to drop it down to 208? or 220v?

If its just the arc lamp supply no problem, put it on the 220 tap. But I bet the older analog control system psus like the 220.

If you have 380V 3 phase, why not just start there with your welds?

You wont find 380v in the US, that is a UK/Europe thing 220/380 or 240/400.

I contacted Lumonics and they didnt have the data for the MS830 but had the data on the slightly newer JK700 series and they want +/-6%. So I got a pair of bucking transformers that will get me down to about 216 to 220. Need to wire them up and get power to it. I need to scrounge up some 6/4 SO cord first. I might have enough 4/4, we'll see.

Got new filters on the way for the head loop, just going to hook up the heat exchanger to city water for now.

Steve, it is a flash lamp pumped YAG. 55J pulse, .5ms to 20ms per pulse up to 100hz pulse rate, maybe 200.
