    Question Melles Griot 305

    Well I finally got one...lol
At first the PSU had a problem with the fuse holder..fixed that.
Next went to start it up and it started just fine but was only outputting about 100mw. Looked and found that the head had been opened... so after a guick realignment got it up to about 300mw+ it seems to get dimmer and then brighter and finally stable..
    What am I doing wrong....lol
    Please help....
    Model 58-GES-305
    made in Dec 03
PSU had a external interface plug on it and a RS-232
Interface has a plug on it with 4 pins jumped.
    Thanks!

Sounds like you might need some help aligning the cavity, Matt.

I know that Frank (Flecom) had one of those lasers a while back - not sure if he ever popped the lid on it or not though. Still, it might be worthwhile checking with him to see if he has any tricks to help breathe some life into yours.

Eric Meyers (Planters) is quite familiar with DPSS cavity alignment, so if Frank doesn't have any ideas, I'd suggest contacting Eric next and see if he can point you in the right direction. Sure would be cool if you could get that unit back to race-trim. 4 watts of 532 would be awesome!

its going to cost more to fix it, than just buying a new one with nicer beam and modulation.
