I was going through my junk cabinet while looking for some photodetectors to measure pulse and power from a doped fiber laser I am getting and came across this damaged crystal. It is out of a 1997 Coherent Versapulse laser, which had several q-switched flashlamp pumped bricks and produced 400mJ 7nS and 3J 10mS pulses. At that power level kind of no wonder there is a burn spot on the coating!
Would you say it is totally trashed from the picture or perhaps could be repositioned in some application to still double? The reason I ask is I am eyeing tossing the crystal and using the adjustable mount for other things.
