please show a picture of the laser on and a white sheet of paper in front of the aperture.

close the cover of the laser before you do that. the IR light from running the laser with the cover off may be eye damaging.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

If it is a very dim red glow that you're seeing, it is most likely a green DPSS. Seconding what Swami said... this would be 1 or more watts of 808nm light that you're seeing. That can be very damaging.

yes.. that's IR. both red and green dpss lasers use it. that's a very unsafe wavelength.

It could be blue too, now that I think about it. The B&W Tek 473nm lasers have that same looking crystal housing that holds the pump crystal as well as the SHG crystal. It looks like CNI.

what's interesting is he's only getting IR out the aperture. sounds like they sold him the wrong thing or something not working properly.
