This should be a good general purpose laser power meter. The idea of ID on the buttons is good. Some letters and an up/down arrow, SET etc?? Do you have a link to the manual? That might help sell some and also avoid returns. Anyway looks good. I may send you a message about one... Phil

What is the maximum measurable power you need? What resolution do you need?
There are some hardware limitations of this meter.

Comes with, everything is included except for the head. Just plug the head in.

    Thanks!
I'll send you a PM with the link to the user manual and software.

is there any audible feedback from the meter while measuring?

Unfortunately not, this has visual feedback only.

I'll look into that though, sounds interesting

    Hmm looks nice!

Any chance of an image or video showing the needle mode?

it's a feature I love in my coherent labmaster... basically when you are in the measurement/tuning mode it makes a beep every time the power goes up, and a lower pitched beep every time the power goes down... so while tuning its easy to know what's happening without looking at the meter

This is a screenshot from LumenOS P1, but it hasn't changed:

One feature that is missing (i suggeted to Arg already) is having the power displayed in full screen size. Many people sell sometimes a secondhand module and the potential buyer want to see a picture with both module and Power reading. The laserbee has a very small display so not convinient imo. Arg has a nice big display but the firmware is not ready for it to do this.
Its also practical if your on a bigger distance from the meter or when laserist become older you can read it still easily. Wearing glasses and a safetygoggles isn,t practical at the same time. Not everyone is 20 arround here and has razor sharp vision. I,m not in my retirement years yet but i can imagine that older folks arround here would like to have a full screen display power readout aswell.

Instead of leaving free space, I packed LumenOS P2 with enough features to use some 99% or so of the available space on the microcontroller. After heavy optimization, I have precisely 226 bytes left before the microcontroller will burst at the seams.

To get a large power display on the Rubicon hardware, there's two major options that I can explore:

    1) Sacrifice a feature that you don't need or would never use in exchange for additional space to store an extra (larger) LCD font.
    2) I could write some additional code to render the current 5x7 font twice as large and add a large power display, so as to avoid wasting space with another font and stay within the constraints of the remaining free space.

Those options would incur some additional costs of course, but they would be reasonable. Would you be interested in me exploring our options?

I noticed you have separate menu items for "About" and "Version".

Couldn't you remove the version menu and add "software version v.xxx" onto the end of the "About" text?

That way you can delete an entire menu item and are removing something that no-one miss functionality wise especially as the version is displayed elsewhere.
