Thanks. I found an eBay listing describing a bit about LSX and Riya, and it looks good. I'll check out Ether-dream too. Not muc I can do about the vimeo links though. I did mention machines with abject specs, didn't I? It runs my synthesiser code just fine, all 32 voices of it at once, but most 'web2' content these days brings it to its knees and makes it weep openly.

    Hi Galvonaut,

Good to hear of another South Coast Bod! There is a great party scene here but a lot of the venues have very low ceilings so safety is a concern for lasers, hence there are not many of them...

UKLEM is coming up though (weekend of 20th September) and I am heading up there myself, all that a laser enthusiast could want so I hear! Hopefully see you there?

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I think that Ether-dream DAC looks like the one for me too. Cheaper, nicely made, fast, open support, etc. Streaming over ethernet. Never even considered that. And if it can do standalone shows, great; portable, and not a thief-magnet. I like my ITX mainboard and Layla method but it's fast overtaken by good portable systems I haven't looked at much.

Hi Steviobee. I've noticed the low ceilings. I went to a club in Worthing the other day that had 2x 2watt lasers projecting onto the dance-floor and podiums about 3 meters away :/ I kept out of their way!
I'm going to try and get to the UKLEM - already checked that it doesn't clash with LVR laser training day - just need to make sure I'm not in Italy then I can book them both. Maybe car share if I can make it?

Well I'm hoping they weren't the full 2w hitting the dancefloor!

Yea, get yourself along to the LVR training, that's the week after the UKLEM, it's very good!

And sure thing, am happy to car share if our timings work out...

I don't think the lasers were clean (ever) so I am guessing they were under 2W. It still frightened me! I'll try and find out more about them.
I've heard great things about LVR from a friend who did the training, so hope to get on the next one.
