Default Laser harp at Furness college opening ceremony.

On Thursday (11 July) I had the honour of opening the new Furness College campus official opening ceremony with a performance on my laser harp with an audience of around 400 college students, staff and guest including the Mayor of Barrow and the local MP for Barrow & Furness.

This is the only article I have found so far covering the event. http://www.in-cumbria.com/ceremony-s...ure-1.1070032#

There should be a video of the event up loaded to the colleges official YT channel in the coming days and I will update with a link when it appears.

Rob (Stanwax) joined me on the day to provide much valued help with setting up and controlling the two laser projectors. He also provided 10 bounce mirrors set up above the laser harp and his Martin hazer.

We did have some issues with the laser harp sensor picking up other sources of light in the room. We sorted out the issue but the room was kept darker than I would of liked.
My performance went ok if not 100% with a couple of bad notes plus one rouge note triggered by a camera flash.

With what feed back I got on the day the performance was well received and no mention of the bad notes. The organiser looked to be very pleased with the performance and the laser show.

I will update this thread as and when possible.

I'm curios to see what the video looks like as well Wayne. The harp was faultless once we sorted the stray light issue. It's still running on the V2.45 code. I've been in touch with Dan (Things) on LPF about updates.

Shit. I was to provide you with my hardware mods and new firmware. I'll send it tonight.

As you can in the video, I have optimised the sensor electronics to the point it works flawlessly in day light.

White gloves help a lot. That's not me playing BTW. It's a friend/work mate, he's a banjo player so excuse his harp skills.

(There is a CD playing quietly in the background).

Thanks for helping him our dnar, I've reformatted it seems a million times since I ran the harps, finding the code was taking time on the pile of old HDD's I have laying around!

Good job with the performance Carl
