    Default White LED help/recommendation?

    reason being cos i like build things!

    i want to build a bike light and am looking for a bright LED up to the job.

    anyone got any recommendations? bare in mind it will be ran frombatteries.

    Cree makes some pretty damn good LEDs. 3W 250lm. I would recommend the warm white. Cool white, though "brighter" has a lot of rayleigh scatter which hinders night vision.

    What about something like the 100 Watt one that Adam (Diachi) had at Surfleet?, now that was bright !

    May need a car battery to operate it though

    Take a look at the "XM-L T6" led,

    this is one of the most efficient LEDs on the market

    not bad 3 and a bit volts at 3amps.

    next is powering the thing?

    ive been thinking battery and dynamo but then ive got to find the right electronics to get it all working.
