One word.... BADASS! Was this done with the lissajous generator with procedure effects?

what's important at the end of the day is you have a tool that's comfortable and fun for you to use and you make cool and amazing things for us all to drool over.
Exactly. In fact, if I can get anywhere the foothills of the stuff you do with LSX, I will most likely be creating abstracts in LSX and LD2K/Beyond. Exporting the LSX abstracts to be played via FB3 in tandem with with the abstract shows from my QM. So, software fusion all around! I just need to finish my lumia projector.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Thanks all for your input. I'm finding this thread very valuable indeed. I'm now thinking I just want to try everything! ... and as absolom has said, mix and match the features of each bit of software.
I think software is going to take a back burner until I've had the opportunity to have a play... and built a decent projector! May I ask what galvos you use Swamidog and what sort of scan angles are achievable? I'm also interested in how you capture such high quality video.

i'm using DT40W galvos at 30k and about 15d scan angle.

i shoot my videos with a nikon d7000 dslr typically at iso 100, f20, 1/30 second shutter speed, and 30fps.

Thanks Sawmidog. I might have to upgrade my Canon 5D to 5D MkII to do video.

Doing very well, thanks! Also, after your suggestions, I built a much stronger PC and now my abstracts that were created in LD2K run great in Beyond. You guys need to get the frame embedded abstracts to work in Beyond (from LD2K) and I will be happy! Well, DMX through the QM card would be nice too!

Be careful not to get it anywhere near the beams. The 5D seems particularly sensitive to lasers judging from the number of 5D damaged CMOS sensor videos on Youtube and different comments on there.

BTW the new 70D seems to be setting the standard for video, at least with regards to focusing performance: http://www.dpreview.com/previews/can...tm_medium=text

Thanks White-Light. We have veered slightly off topic here..
Good to know that the Canons are sensitive, particularly as I have an f1.2L which has been described as 'sucking more light in than a black hole'. My sensor would probably be fried in an ns!
I've been pretty lucky so far with my camera, not opening the shutter with a direct beam on the lens. With that knowledge I might pause my shows, or set them up with a blank spot in pre-determined shooting area.

The 70D may be a good idea for filming lasers. It's less than half the price of the 5DMkII, so less of a hit if/when the sensor fries. I want to stick with Canon as I have a lot of Canon lenses which I currently only use for stills.
