    Default Mystery object

I was given a load of optical components by a friend and I have no idea what this was originally from or what I might be able to use if for in the future. Any ideas?

I think you'll find the first one is a wing wam wommer for winding smoke and the second one is a rotary solenoid for a chrome gigglepin. :-)

I have got to concur. That is definitely a smoke-winder. Very bright smoke.

Looks like something from an old spectrometer-esque device.

I'll swap it for a sky hook for a Laserworld laser projector?

Thanks Daniel, I thought it looked a little bit too engineered for display use.

With that in mind Steve, I think swapping a spectrometer-esque smoke-winder for a sky hook is a little mean - throw in a skirting ladder and I'll be happy :P

Based on the discharge bulb in the center, definitely not a smoke winder. Looks more like an elbow grease gun for lubing muffler bearings.

    *Bright*. Smoke. Ò^O

I think elbow grease guns have more actual elbows in them. Ok, that was fairly disgusting so I'll shut up now. Mind you I knew a girl who wore too many mufflers, but she said it did wonders for her bearing. Sadly I never got to find out how she might have applied the lube.

    It's clearly of Australian manufacture.
