Okay I somewhat understand, even though after applying the changes it still side rotates to a solid line... BUT, when I save the new .ild file and load it up with zILDA, now it shows the file as both ILD format 0 AND 1!! Is this normal??? If so, then it seems like I should be able to now view this with the laser... I will give it a shot and see what gives. Hopefully this fixes things, but I was under the assumption it should be ILD file format 0 only...

Nope, it's still a 2d image... Can't figure it out, I used the rotate Z axis, and it refuses to become a 3d image, even after applying the changes... Shit this is confusing... There isn't a simpler way to make the image 3d? Forcing it into format 0?

A file of multiple frames can be a mixture of ILDA format 0 and 1. Each frame has a designation of type.

If you move the whole image of a 2D frame forward in 3D space, it will still look like a straight vertical line from the side. It just won't be in the zero Z axis plane.

I wish I could get more info from tribble about what he did to compensate for the buggy ILDA reader that is built into the SD card reader that comes with that cheapo Chinese projector. We were working on it together for a while. I wanted to turn the whole thing into a LaserBoy frame set effect. So fixing a whole bunch of frames to work properly on the device would simply be a matter of applying one effect to the whole set of frames.

I got a report from another owner of the cheapo Chinese projector that the existence of just one frame that is not format 0 can screw up the performance of the entire set of frames.

    Good stuff!

Rotating the image around the Z axis will not promote a 2D image to 3D. All it will do is rotate the image and leave it in the same plane it started in.

That is not following the instructions I wrote.

I've played around with this for an hour, and all I can ever get it to do is force an ild format 1... Never does enter the 3d stage... Don't know what I'm doing wrong but nothing is working...

There's something I am not doing right or something... From a 2d image, I need to know what sequence to press the keys in, because obviously I don't understand when you use orbit for rotate, or rotate for pan... 'Cause I'm trying to follow the directions, but maybe I don't understand them properly... I know to a degree how the keys operate, and whether they're rotate and what not, but I don't understand how it all comes together...

Read the instructions I wrote in post #19

    http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...608#post269608

Starting with the section that reads

    So.......

If your objective is to convert a 2D drawing into 3D .........

I just edited it a bit.

I suppose all of this needs to be done within the "v" submenu, because hitting the "o" key (applying this rotation to the art) in the main menu goes to the output option... Does all of this need to be done within the "v" submenu? I tried following the keypresses and it STILL doesn't do anything... It's still on a z plane and I can't get it to work... Damnit... Maybe I'm too stupid to figure all this out... Shoulda paid more attention in geometry class i guess...
