Isn't "digital laser" just a fancy way of saying TEM10?![]()

According to a BBC report each laser is static with only one set output (not quite) while a digital laser can modify the output in millions of different forms (using a material that can be slightly modified rather than a fixed mirror). Used in broadband it could allow much more data to be sent over a line as the quantity of different values is immense. At least according to the BBC's simplified report.
