    Yea.. this whole thread-direction is kinda being way-overthought.. +1 for Posts#27, 28 and 37.. You can even go fancy-pants, and 'knife-edge' the flag / blade, for a more 'subtle-fade'.. ie:

    Actually a really sharp edge causes more scatter than a somewhat blunt edge (in a sense with a sharp edge you're measuring where those photons are...)
