I have a lot of different saws my dad has given me over the years. Most are unmarked blades from the tool room at south bend lathe. I think the thinnest I have is .02. I have used the mini cut-off blades from HF. They work really good on 6061 and brass. Just use a bit of wd40 on the 6061. It's really easy to make an arbor from aluminum with a washer and screw to hold the blade on. Take a piece of 1/2 stock and turn the end down with a .02" step to fit the 3/8 hole in the blade. Drill and tap the end with 1/2-20.

I'm using 2mm fl collimation lenses.

I used the 300mm because I had one left over from a dual g71 project. 300mm happens to be the perfect FL for the G71 diodes. It gives a 5mm initial beam size with them. I actually want a about a 425mm FL for this project. That should give me about an 8.5mm initial beam size (I have the large aperture Greek scanners)

Here it is a 92 feet. The horizontal is the corrected dimension. The paper is ruled in .1 inch squares. So, about .96mRad X .7mRad.

impressive! now you just need to clean it up with a little spatial filtering.

And the power output, ditto on the spatial filter. Was amazed when scanned my build with it.

Am I mistaken or is this a 2 lens setup? (1): The "standard" 2mm collimating lens and (2): A single corrective optic?

Not sure if i will spatial filter yet or not. Its just a beam machine. Its doing about 3W. Here are some beam shots. The flanking lasers have 800mw g71 set-ups in them.





note: before anyone freaks out..... Yes I have a variance, yes I have a projector variance, even though It doesn't look like it the beams are well over 10' off the audience floor, the stage was controlled, Performers all attended a brief safety meeting before the show, a operator was at the stage with an estop.
